Dubbed as BOSS (Business-One Stop- Shop) Ni Tomas, the one-stop shop that opened Monday (Jan. 3) is a single destination where entrepreneurs can process their business registrations and renew business licenses.
“Naghatag kita og 5 percent na tax relief sa mga negosyante kay kabalo kita mismo na dako ang nahimong epekto sa pandemic sa atong mga negosyante. Pinaagi niini gipakita nato na ang Santo Tomas LGU andam muhatag og tabang sa mga negosyanteng naapektuhan sa pandemya,” Mayor Ernesto Evangelista said.
Through this initiative, the tax relief will reduce the amount of taxes paid by individuals or businesses, Evangelista said.
He also said a business tax reduction of at least 5 percent covering the gross income or receipt shall be imposed to all businesses operating in the municipality of Santo Tomas.
Evangelista added that a 20% reduction on the monthly rentals of all stalls in the Santo Tomas Public Market, whether operating or not, from the month of January 1, 2022 to June 30, 2022 shall likewise be imposed.
Meanwhile, Town Administrator Lawyer Elisa Evangelista said that processes in this year’s BOSS Ni Tomas are streamlined to ensure the efficient processing of documents for businesses with concerned regulatory offices from the Santo Tomas LGU are at the forefront in giving business licenses and permits gathered in one place.
The annual event is held simultaneously at the Municipal Covered Court, she said.
BOSS will be open everyday until January 20 and on weekdays, the offices are open from 8 a.m. until all business owners in line are accommodated.
Business Permits and Licenses Office head Ana Jane Gatillo ensures that BOSS Ni Tomas would be compliant to the provisions of the Republic Act No. 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business..
She said the permits and licenses will be given in one day; provided, however, that business permit applicants would be able to complete the necessary documentary requirements.
“Under the Ease of Doing Business law, business permits applicants have to process their documents in three steps: ‘File, Pay and Claim,’” she said.
