“Fivera is a pop opera group from Thailand and they have been doing concerts to raise funds for children with cancer, mostly sa Singapore sila but for the first time they are doing this here in Davao,” says Dr. Mae Dolendo, program director House of Hope Foundation for Kids with Cancer.
Dr. Dolendo said the coming of the five-person music group to Davao was sponsored by a philanthropist friend of the House Hope director and the former Philippine ambassador to Singapore Minda Cruz.
The music event is hoped to generate funds to help children with cancer not just here in Davao but also those undergoing treatment in several hospitals in Mindanao.
“We’ve been doing shared care facilities outside of Davao City and we also have indigenous people who are also patients,” Dolendo said.
“Fivera started in 2010 and has been to 18 countries already and we are very lucky to have them here in Davao,” says Arleen Aportadera, the fundraising manager of the House of Hope Foundation.
Aportadera says their repertoire during the Davao concert will be 20 songs. “We expect 500 to 600 guests during the event to be present during the event and we would be happy to see you there.”
She added that the concert will also feature talented Davao music artists. The event will be a night of beautiful music while supporting a noteworthy cause.
