Ayon kay Arroyo sa isang pahayag na dekada na silang magkatuwang ni Romualdez sa paglilingkod sa mga Pilipino, kung saan malaking bahagi nito ay bilang kinatawan sa Kamara.
Balik-Kongreso si Arroyo matapos manalo sa nakaraang Mayo 9 na eleksyon bilang kinatawan ng ikalawang distrito ng Pampanga.
Ayon sa kanya, kanyang ibibigay ang buong suporta para iluklok si Romualdez bilang susunod na house speaker.
Hinimok ng dating pangulo ang kanilang mga kapartido sa Lakas-CMD na suportahan si Romualdez.
Unang inendorso ng National Unity Party (NUP) ang speakership ni Romualdez.

Since 2010, our partnership involved our service as fellow members of the House of Representatives. I will be returning to the House on June 30, 2022. I would therefore like to advise the members of the Lakas-CMD that I am throwing my support for Majority Leader Martin Romualdez to be elected as House Speaker in the next Congress. I urge all members of our party to do the same,” saad ni Arroyo.
