Sara reminds Dabawenyos to get COVID-19 1st, 2nd boosters
Outgoing Mayor and Presumptive Vice -President Sara Duterte renewed her call to Dabawenyos to get their first and second booster doses.

Sara in her Monday (May 23) radio program over 87.5 FM Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR) said the vaccines are readily available in all city's vaccination sites.

She said data showed that most severe and critical COVID-19 cases who succumbed to death are unvaccinated.

Sara cited a study that booster shots are needed for 18 years old and above segment of the population who are qualified to get their boosters. 

“As you can see in our landscape here in Davao, we have put up campaign materials that remind Dabawenyos to get their boosters. It will save lives,” she said.

The daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte admitted the booster rollout in the city has a very low turnout. However, she said anti-COVID-19 vaccinations remain high with1,331,671 Dabawenyos got their first dose and 1,313,795 for the second dose.

The mayor said out of 258,589 individuals who received their first booster shot, 7,506 only have taken their second booster shots. 

The presumptive vice president said she had her first booster on December 31, 2021, and she only felt pain at the injection site and was feverish for two days. “After that, it was over, and all is well,” she said.

Meanwhile, the mobile vaccinations in national and local government offices are ongoing in the city for employees who have yet o get their first and second anti-covid vaccination and booster shots for those who are  fully-vaccinated. 

According to COVID-19 Task Force Dr. Michelle Schlosser, private establishments including call center offices have also given their support to the city's booster rollout.

Schlosser said they also have continuous meetings with resorts, restaurants, and malls to intensify the booster rollout.
