Davao Light residential rate rises by ₱0.09 per kWh for October billing
Davao Light and Power Co. has increased its overall residential electricity rate by ₱0.09 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for the October 11 to November 10, 2026 billing period.

In its customer advisory, Davao Light said the rate rose to ₱13.33 per kWh from ₱13.24 per kWh in September.

According to Davao Light spokesman Fermin Edillon during the media briefing at The Royal Mandaya Hotel on Wednesday, October 21, the adjustment was mainly driven by higher generation charges due to elevated Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) prices amid tight power supply conditions nationwide.

Davao Light said it continues to implement mitigating measures approved by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) to help ease the impact of rate adjustments on consumers. BuyMaps

The latest billing period also reflects the removal of value-added tax (VAT) from the System Loss Charge, in accordance with ERC Resolution No. 26, Series of 2026.

Meanwhile, customers will also shoulder an additional ₱0.0634 per kWh Universal Charge for Missionary Electrification (UC-ME), a national charge supporting the government's missionary electrification program.

With warmer weather and dry conditions contributing to higher electricity demand, Fermin encouraged consumers to practice energy efficiency to help manage their power consumption and monthly bills.
