In Purok 2, Barangay Sta. Maria, Nabunturan, Davao de Oro, 60 households benefited the energization under SEP.
The government has spent P1,157,298.32 in the implementation of the project in said barangay.
Present during the occasion last May 19 were the Barangay Officials, NCECCO Sitio Level Officers, and NORDECO personnel led by Engineer Hermilo Sunio, Jr. and Joel Josol.
Sunio said this has been an initiative of all electric cooperatives like NORDECO—a mission to continue to provide electric service in the remote areas, with a goal towards sustainable rural development as mandated by the National Government since 1969.
Meanwhile on May 20, NORDECO successfully energized a total of 60 household connections in Purok 11, Siocon, Compostela of said province with the total project cost of P1,522,475.42.
Sunio said this is the 19th Sitio energized for this year in the coverage area of NORDECO through SEP.
NORDECO vows to energize more sitios in its franchise areas in Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro towards total rural electrification and sustainable rural development.
The sitio energization is a program of the national government through the National Electrification Administration (NEA) which is being implemented by the rural electric distribution utilities.
