NCCC, stray dog advocates launch #HelpLocalShelter project
New City Commercial Corporation (NCCC)’s Hardwaremaxx and Maxx’s Pet bowtique and Pawlor launched its donation drive for pets in Davao City.

The activirt dubbed “#HelpLocalShelter aims to raise awareness on the rehabilitation and care for animals in distress and animal protection in general.

Speaking to reporters during Wednesday’s AFP-PNP Press Corps briefing, NCCC marketing specialist Christopher Cua urged all pet lovers to donate foods, accessories, and even pet old toys, and other items which are essential for the shelter.

The campaign also accepts monetary donations for the improvement of the animal shelter rehabilitation center.

Donors may leave their donations in cash or in kind at any Hardwaremaxx and Maxx’s pet bowrique and pawlor stores and coin banks available in all NCCC branches.

“We are calling everyone to donate kahit old toys,stuff sa mga pets ninyo pwede ninyo i-donate kasi they are in need of your support,” Cua said.

A private funded Animal Rescue Rehabilitation and Fostering (ARRF ), Davao Pawg-Ibig Shelter in Barangay Binugao, Toril  houses up to 200 dogs and cats as the chosen beneficiary for the donation drive for pets.

ARFF founder and president Marites Sia-Tan Batacan, for her part said she hopes that incoming Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte will enforce the Davao City Adopt-A-Dog-and-Cat (DADC) Ordinance.

Batacan believed the implementation of said ordinance will help address stray dog problems and strengthen responsible pet ownership in the city.
