Davao City to implement in-office vaccination
DAVAO CITY- The COVID-19 Task Force here aims to administer booster shots to employees assigned at any national government offices in the city.

This developed after a recent evaluation among several offices showed that more than 50 percent of fully vaccinated workers have yet to receive their booster doses.

City’s COVID-19 Task Force Spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser said the Vaccination Cluster has already identified the vaccination status of these government offices.

"We have seen in the evaluation that there are government offices with employees who still haven't gotten their booster jabs. One of our strategies is the in-office vaccination rollout,” she said.

Among these identified government regional offices are the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Commission on Audit, Department of Agriculture, Department of Agrarian Reform, National Housing Authority, and Office of Civil Defense.

Schlosser said there are many  government offices where employees have already been fully vaccinated but there are still those who have yet to get boosted.

Schlosser assured that they have enough manpower to conduct the in-office mobile vaccination rollout.

Schlosser said that as far as the Davao City government is concerned, the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), has already identified some 1,900 fully vaccinated employees including plantilla, job order, and contract of service who have not yet been boosted.

They will also be the focus of the Vaccination Cluster to ensure that employees of city government offices are fully vaccinated, boosted, and protected, she said.

The city's 1,200 contact tracers are also needed to get booster jabs being front liners who deal with COVID-19 patients and clients firsthand, she added.

"We want to make sure our people who provide contact tracing services are also protected,” she said.

This strategy, she said is apart from the ongoing rollout through the vaccination hubs, mobile, drive-thru, sectoral, and house-to-house for 12 to 17 and adult population age groups; and special site vaccination sites for the pediatric five to 11 years old population.

A total of 1,292,684 individuals are now fully vaccinated, however only 17.76 percent or 229,588 of them have received their booster shots.
