Speaking at the AFP-PNP Press Corps briefing Wednesday (April 27) at The Royal Mandaya Hotel Lupaz said that DCPO is one-hundred percent ready for the elections.
“I think, we are 100 percent ready. Deployment plan for our personnel is prepared.Ready na personnel natin,” Lupaz said.
He said 80 percent of more than 2,000 personnel are ready for deployment for the May 9 elections and will perform election-related duties while the 20 percent is task to man the police stations.
“80 percent personnel of DCPO will be deployed sa election duties. 20 percent yon yong maiiwan to conduct patrolling, checkpoint, and other routinary activities of the police,” Lupaz said.
He said two police officers will be deployed in every polling precinct and an additional force will also be augmented on areas with big clustered polling precincts.
“Davao City has a total of 182 barangays na may 263 polling centers. So, itong 263 polling centers lalagyan natin ng tag-dadalawang police,” Lupaz added.
The city has a total of 1,411 clustered polling precincts and about 992,538 registered voters.
Lupaz said the city is categorized as “Green” which means the city is free from terror-threats and and election-related crimes.
He said, although the city has no security concerns related to the upcoming elections, police visiibilty will continue to ensure zero crime.
“Itong 182 barangays natin, naka-fall ito sa green category. Meaning to say these areas are peaceful, the peace and order is manageable. No reported presence of private armed groups. These are all peaceful areas. We have no areas of concern during this elections,” Lupaz said.
Lupaz assured Dabawenyos that the entire election process will be peaceful and orderly and that the public has nothing to worry about.
Lupaz, meanwhile said that DCPO will also intensify its security measures at Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (DRANHS) where President Rodrigo Duterte will cast his votes.
