Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 in its report identified the victim as Patrolman Hariz Jhun Adayo, assigned at Don Marcelino MPS, Davao Occidental.
The victim was traveling in the area on board his motorcyle when he was waylaid by two unidentified armed men along the highway around 7:13 a.m Tuesday.
The still unidentified gunmen shot him several times.
The suspects escaped going to the direction of Hagonoy, Davao del Sur on board a black motorcycle.
PRO 11 is looking into the identities and motive of the suspects in killing Adayo who was a member of PNP Lagablab Class 2018.
The victim was immediately rushed to Davao del Sur Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending Physician.
Investigators recovered the victim’s issued 9mm firearm with inserted magazine containing fifteen bullets and other personal belongings.
PRO 11 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Benjamin Silo Jr. condemns the killing of Adayo and assures that justice will be served to the bereaved family.
