The Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 identified the victim as Danilo Lumikid alias Donnie, of legal age.
Initial investigation revealed the victim was driving his motorcycle traversing the National Highway particularly at Purok 10, Brgy Central, Manay, going to Brgy. San Ignacio, when he was shot by unidentified perpetrator fatally hitting his head.
Hot pursuit operation is ongoing against the suspect while the Davao Oriental Provincial Mobile Force Company (DOPMFC) also conducts a checkpoint.
PRO 11 director Brigadier General Benjamin Silo Jr. said that investigation is still ongoing to identify the perpetrators and motive of killing.
Silo is asking for the cooperation of everybody, especially those who could possibly provide them with information to expedite the investigation.
It was learned that Lumikid was facing cyber libel charges that had been filed against him early March this year by local officials in the province.
