BFAR, BOC donate 650 Kilos of fish to DSWD
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 11 recently received donations of at least 650 kilograms of fish from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) 11 and Bureau of Customs (BOC).

DSWD in its statement said the donations will benefit the clients of various residential care facilities of the agency in Davao Region.

According to BFAR Regional Director Raul Millana, the tons of fish boxes endorsed by BOC from seized misdeclared cargo were checked and certified for human consumption.

He said that the effort is in line with their commitment to the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP)


The program aims to eradicate hunger, ensure food and nutrition security, and reduce poverty in urban and rural communities through the synergy and convergence of essential services of the different government agencies.

The agency’s Assistant Regional Director for Operations Ronald Ryan R. Cui received the donated cargos on behalf of the Department and expressed gratitude to BFAR for their assistance to the agency.

The Davao City Government and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) were also recipients of the said donations.
