DAVAO CITY – The Philippine Navy, through the Intelligence Unit of Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM), recently arrested an American national here who is wanted for three counts of assault in his hometown in Massachusetts.

The suspect, James Charles Davis was arrested at Inspiria Condominium in Davao City on Wednesday night, August 5, 2026.

The operation was carried out in close coordination with the Bureau of Immigration – Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU) and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Davao (CIDG Davao).  City& Local Guides

According to authorities, Davis is the subject of an outstanding warrant of arrest issued by the Newburyport District Court, Massachusetts Trial Court, United States, for two counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and one count of Assault, in violation of the Massachusetts General Laws.

Initial verification through the Bureau of Immigration's Central Query Support System (CQSS) confirmed that Davis entered the Philippines on March 4, 2026. Following his arrest, he was turned over to the Bureau of Immigration – Fugitive Search Unit for documentation and appropriate legal proceedings in accordance with existing laws and established procedures. He is currently under temporary custody at Police Station 18 of the Davao City Police Office while awaiting transfer to Manila for further processing. City& Local Guides
