The Police Regional Office 13 in its statement Monday afternoon, Sept. 14 identified the wounded officer as Patrolman Justeen Reo Ga, who is assigned to the Dinagat Islands Police Provincial Office. He was among the 887 Caraga police personnel deployed to assist in securing the 2026 BARMM Parliamentary Elections.

According to PRO 13, citing an initial report from the Police Regional Office of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, unidentified armed men fired several rounds inside the school premises, injuring four people, including Ga.
The identities of the three other injured individuals have not yet been released.
Police units in the area immediately launched intensified operations to locate and arrest the suspected perpetrators. Authorities are also conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances and motive behind the shooting.
Ga was given medical attention and is currently recovering in safe and stable condition.
PRO 13 Regional Director Brigadier General Rolindo Suguilon said it remains committed to maintaining peace and order and ensuring the safe and orderly conduct of the BARMM Parliamentary Elections.
