Duterte during her Monday (May 16) radio program cited Executive Order No. 15, Series of 2022, which she issued on April mandating local candidates to retrieve, re-use, and recycle all national and local election campaign paraphernalia.
“Should you see any paraphernalia you can send the picture to Davao City Disaster Radio messenger account so that we can send it to the candidates and for them to retrieve their materials,” Sara said.
Although she noted that the teams of the local candidates started to clean up streets and poster areas. However, she noticed that there are still some matetials which are not removed.
“To a major extent they have complied [with the EO 15]. However, I saw some that were missed or left out. Each time I passed by, I take photos and send them to the candidate telling them to retrieve their materials,” she said.
Under E.O. 15, all local candidates are ordered to create their respective teams to retrieve, re-use, and recycle all local and national election paraphernalia in the city of Davao on May 10, 11, and 12, 2022.
The EO also urges local and national candidates to be responsible for ensuring that their campaign materials must be disposed of and properly managed after election day as this paraphernalia will no longer serve their purpose.
Sara emphasized in the order the need to ensure that proper disposal of the campaign materials is observed to avoid contributing to more wastes and to promote effective waste management in the city.
