Apparently happy over the development, Duterte invited lawyer Lawrence Bantiding, the head of the CTO in her Sara All For You Tuesday (Jan. 25) episode.
“The automation of issuance and renewal of business permits is another program which we can be proud of being the product of hardwork of the CTO to fast track and ease in doing business in the city,” Sara said.
Bantiding announced the city government of Davao has launched an electronic one stop shop online business application.
He said the application for new business permits online actually started in the middle of last year while the application for business permit renewals online started this year.
“At the comfort of their homes they can now apply for new business permits and apply for business renewals and print their business permits,” Bantiding said.
He said applicants will just have to upload the necessary documents so the CTO could assess and provide tax order payment and other charges.
Bantiding also informed the public that for those who are not inclined to do online transactions, CTO has established 10 renewal sites in different CTO district offices where the applicants can transact face-to-face.
Unlike before, CTO has only two renewal sites which are the CTO main office at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Building and another at the mall.
“But to comply with the health protocols in view of the pandemic, we have now established 10 business renewal sites,” Bantiding said.
He said applicants who come from far flung areas do not have to travel for hours to transact at the SP building with the establishment of the 10 renewal sites.
Bantiding however admitted, the majority still preferred to do the face-to-face transactions.
Nonetheless, he is optimistic the transacting public will slowly learn to adopt the online business processing transaction in the future. (BY JUDY QUIROS)
