Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 regional director Brigadier General Benjamin Silo Jr. said that the forces of Davao Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company (DNPMFC), Provincial Intelligence Team (PIT) Davao Norte and Regional Intelligence Division 11, and Provincial Intelligence Board conducted a massive implementation of PNP’s Internal Security Operations Campaign Plan “Kapatagan of the National Task Force-Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).
The activity resulted in the voluntary surrender of the 10 NPA members under Weakened Guerilla Front 2 (WGF 2) and Sub-Mindanao Command (SRC) operating in Davao Region.
The rebel returnees were only identified through their aliases for security reasons as alias Junior; Karding; Benjil; Bud; Tatay Molong; and alias Abloy.
Also surrendered were alias Bebing; Rose; Flower; and Georgia.
The surrenderees are now under the protective custody of DNPMFC for the conduct of Custodial Debriefing Report (CDR) and other procedures necessary for them to avail the government’s Enhanced-Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
Meanwhile, the police and military have also recovered several firearms at the vicinity of Sitio San Vicente, Tuburan, Mawab, Davao Oro on the same day.
These guns include four unit AK 47 Chicos; AK47; M14; 2 M16 rifles; M79 Tube; ammunition; and 11 pieces steel magazines.
Silo lauded the recovery of said firearms which contributes to the PRO’s intensified operation against loose firearms.
He said the regional police will continue to develop programs and activities that would further strengthen its community relations and to encourage support from the public in its effort to end local communist armed conflict on this side of the country.
