37,973 jabs in three days with daily targets of 12,658 individuals in the second national rollout of the Bayanihan Bakunahan from December 15 to 17.
The city will focus the 2nd Bayanihan on the expansion of coverage for senior citizens or Priority A2 and poor population or Priority A5.
Mayor Sara Z. Duterte, during her Monday radio program said she hopes that through the second round the city will be able to achieve the 1.2 million population protection target.
"We are supposed to be at 9,000 (vaccinees) per day so that we can reach our target doses by December 31, 2021. But I think with the next Bayanihan Bakunahan, our National Vaccination we can add more and maybe achieve 100 percent for the first dose,” Sara said
Dr. Michelle Schlosser, COVID-19 Task Force spokesman earlier said that the second round of the National Vaccination will have a lesser target number because the city is nearing its target population protection.
She said 1,191,694 individuals have already received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccines, based on the December 10 data.
According to the same report, 1,046,084 Dabawenyos have been fully vaccinated or 80.47 percent of the target number.
The city aims to administer close to 1.3 million doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccines before the year ends.
The Bayanihan Bakunahan aims to vaccinate more Filipinos to attain population protection in the country.
During the first round of Bayanihan Bakunahan, the national government administered over 7 million jabs for the three-day vaccination campaign held November 29 to December 1, 2021.
