They are identified as Edelberto Maisog, Grace Jubasan Bacalan, Jessie Siton Roxas, Chris Gire Libres, Nikki Bago Pinao, Alvin Palen, Janiza Galupo, and another couple whose names are still being validated.
Most of the firearms seized were retrieved from an arms cache as revealed by some of the surrenderees.
Major General Wilbur C. Mamawag, the 4th ID commander said that their surrender will lead to the eventual collapse of the remnants of the communist terrorist group (CTG) operating in Surigao del Norte.
Mamawag attributed the feat to the relentless efforts of 30th IB and 901st Brigade in collaborating with the stakeholders and the communities to extend the hand of peace to the rebels.
