Police identified the victim as Philip M. Engbino, 48, married, and manager of EZMMI GenCon under Strong Group Mining Corporation (SGMC).
Responding personnel from the Carrascal Municipal Police Station found a white Dongfeng pickup truck bearing plate number NKK 1748, which is owned by SGMC. The vehicle had apparent bullet holes on the driver’s side of the windshield.
Initial police information showed that Engbino had previously received complaints from several company employees following the termination or discontinuation of some workers’ benefits.
Company records also showed that the vehicle exited SGMC Gate 2 at around 4:35 p.m. on October 3, with Engbino reportedly driving the vehicle himself.
Police are continuing their investigation to identify the gunman and determine the motive behind the shooting.
Authorities have yet to release further details about the possible suspect as investigators continue to gather information and evidence related to the incident.
