8 barangays in Davao de Oro town declared drug- free
DAVAO CITY- Eight more barangays in Davao de Oro were given drug-cleared status by the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing (ROCBDC) on Monday (Nov.29).

This brings the total number of drug-cleared barangays in said province to 158 out of 237 villages.

The ROBDC said these barangays have satisfactorily complied with the required documents for Drug Cleared Barangay set by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Memorandum Circular Number 2020-041 and Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation Number 4, Series of 2021.

The eight barangays are Bagong Silang, Langawisan, Mabugnao, New Albay, New Manay, Parasanon, Poblacion and barangay Tandik,  all of Maragusan, Davao de Oro.

The activity held at Maragusan Sports Dome, Barangay Poblacion, Maragusan, Davao De Oro was attended by town mayor Maricel C Vendiola, members of Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC), Barangay Officials, functionaries, and other stakeholders in the area.(BY RUTH PALO)
