10th ID com vows to dismantle remaining NPA guerilla fronts,affiliate groups

DAVAO CITY- 10th Infantry Division (ID) chief Major General Ernesto Torres Jr. vowed to continue its persistent efforts to dismantle not only guerilla fronts of the communist New People’s Army (NPA) but also its affiliate organizations in their white area operations. 

Torres’ statement came after the death of Sandra Reyes alias Kaye who was killed in a clash against the government troops in Davao de Oro on December 24.

Kaye, the secretary of the Regional White Area Committee (RWAC), SRMC primarily functioned as support to the legal struggle and urban works of the Communist Terrorist Group, specifically in Southern Mindanao was buried in an undisclosed location in the region last Thursday (Dec. 29).

According to Torres, the 10th ID will push for unearthing communist terrorist group (CTG) and its related organization in rural areas to protect the people from deception and extortion in both finances and supplies.

Pedro “Ka Peter” Arnado, former chairperson of the Kilusang Mambubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP), Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (SMRC) of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG), meanwhile called on his former comrades in the urban area to surrender following the death of Reyes.

Arnado who was also the national treasurer of KMP surrendered last June this year, said the death of Alias Kaye created a huge impact on the white area operations of the CTG in Southern Mindanao.

Arnado said he believes that the front organizations of the CPP-NPA are now incapable of conducting mass demonstrations and rallies in the city except on spreading its propaganda on social media especially about the death of a cadre, who came from the white area until she becomes a full-time red fighter.

So busa akong gi awhag nako tanang nasa white area, naay may warrant of arrest o wala, na mo koneksyon sa atong panggamhanan aron makabalik na,” Arnado said.
