Talaingod lady spikers rule Governor's Cup Volleyball Championship

DAVAO CITY---The lady spikers from Talaingod, Davao del Norte ruled the Governor’s Cup Volleyball Championship Women’s Open in Tagum City on May 28.

The Talaingod Lady Wakandas defeated the One Team New Force Spikers in straight sets, 25-22, 25-15, 25-19, to win the tournament by some of the different towns in Davao del Norte.

Talaingod head coach Jons P. Sinco said their team is really determined to win and show the whole province they are the best volleyball team.

“Ang akoa lang gyu’ng advice sa akong mga bata, always play strong. Dili gyud maghatag og chance sa kalaban. Always start strong gyud. Kay kung dili ta mudula, kita man gyud ang mapildi”, Sinco said.

Sinco said their decision to play in different leagues also solidifies even further their team.

Aside from the championship trophy and cash, most of the individual winners from the tournament also came from Talaingod.

The best coach was Sinco, Best Outside Hitter, Best Opposite Hitter, Best Blocker, Best Setter, Best Libero, Best Server, and MVP. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
