Maya Alcantara, who is playing as a defender for Georgetown University Hoyas, has made it to the list which showcases the top women college soccer players in the US.
The American football experts said with Alcantara on defense, the Hoyas had not conceded a goal in 12 straight games, a span of 52 days and 1,103 minutes of soccer, until Butler scored in the 17th minute of a 2-2 draw against Georgetown on October 23.
Alcantara, who has started every game this year and has the most clean sheets in Division I with 13, served as the focal point of that run.
.Her three assists are the icing on top of an outstanding resume.
With this recent accolade, Alcantara is expected to play even better as she helps the Philippines compete in the tough 2023 Women's World Cup.(Romeo Braceros Jr.)
