On September 21, Davaoeno Sambo Practioner Sydney Sy Tancontian made the Philippines proud after she won a silver medal in the tough FISU University World Cup Combat Sports in Samsun, Turkey.
Tancontian won the medal in the women's sambo +80 kilograms.
The Davaoena fell to home favorite Dirgen Duygu, 1-2 in the finals, to settle for the silver medal.
