DAVAO CITY---The goal of the Philippine junior lady spikers to have a winning start in the ongoing 14th Asian Women's U18 Volleyball Championship in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand, did not go as planned.
The team coached by veteran bench tactician Jerry Yee fell to the taller Indian squad in four sets, 25-14, 21-25, 23-25, 19-25, on June 6.
Despite their age and lack of international experience, the troops of Yee gave it their all and were even able to steal a set from their taller opponent.
However, in the end, the young and spunky lady spikers fell to the much superior Indian team.
Despite the loss, the Pinay spikers remain confident that they can regain their bearings and beat their next opponents.
