DAVAO CITY---Nine hundred-five athletes and 257 officials make up the Philippine Team's 1,233-person contingent at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games, to take place in Cambodia from May 5 to 17.

The statement was delivered by Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino, president of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) during the general assembly on Wednesday at the East Ocean Garden Restaurant in Pasay City.

Cambodia will host the Games for the first time, which has scheduled 608 events over 38 sports. Nevertheless, Cambodia has also set special restrictions, particularly in combat sports, where nations other than the host are not allowed to field entire teams in some events.

All sports in Cambodia will include Filipino competitors.

The trip to Cambodia is comparable to the 2019 Philippine hosting, which featured 56 sports and 1,119 Filipino participants.

The POC has also organized a special send-off ceremony for Team Philippines for April 15 at the Philippine International Convention Center.(Romeo Braceros Jr.)
