DAVAO CITY---University of Perpetual Help System Dalta and Letran College won the men's and women's beach volleyball championships in the Season 98 National Collegiate Athletic Association at Subic and Zambales, respectively.

They are the kings and queens of the sands.

The Altas defeated Emilio Aguinaldo College, 21-10, 15-21, 15-13, to finish the tournament with an 11-game sweep by relying on Jefferson Marapoc's 22-point performance.

Perpetual Help, the second-best university in the sport behind the College of Saint Benilde, which has seven NCAA men's beach volleyball championships, has won its fourth men's beach volleyball championship.

The Altas also deposed the Generals, preventing a three-peat for them.

Letran defeated Perpetual Help in the women's match, 21-17, 21-12, to win their third women's beach volleyball championship.

The Lady Knights prevented the Lady Altas from winning a second title after their male counterparts had already won it with 17 points from Chamberlane Cuada.(Romeo Braceros Jr.)
