According to the school’s recently released "School Performance Trend" report for School Years 2022-2026, key indicators of learner participation have plummeted to near-zero levels, reflecting a student body that is now consistently present, punctual, and committed to finishing their education.
The report, which tracked data from the 2022-2023 academic year through the projected 2025-2026 term, highlights a remarkable turnaround for a school that once struggled with high rates of chronic absenteeism and student attrition.
The data reveals a staggering 93.6% reduction in the tardiness rate. In the 2022-2023 school year, 12.50% of students were recorded as tardy. The number initially rose to 13.20% in the following year before a sharp decline began, ultimately plunging to just 0.80% by the 2025-2026 school year.
This near-elimination of tardiness represents one of the most significant behavioral shifts in the school's recent history.
Similarly, chronic absenteeism has been eradicated. The absenteeism rate began at 8.50% in 2022-2023, steadily declined to 7.20% and then 4 %, and concluded the reporting period at a mere 1.03%.
This represents an 87.9% reduction over the four-year period. Most significantly, the dropout rate fell from 7.50% to 1.00%, an 86.7% decrease, ensuring more students stay in school to complete their basic education and secure a brighter future.
School officials credit the 2025 donation of two dedicated school buses by Hallmark Mining Corporation as the primary catalyst for these numbers.
The two buses, which now serve more than 200 high school students daily, have changed students’ daily routines by removing the logistical barriers that once prevented many learners from attending school regularly.
"Before the school buses, many of our students faced grueling daily commutes just to reach the campus," said Jonathan Dizon, MNHS principal.
Dizon said the long walking distances to and from distant barangays and unreliable transportation were the main reasons students were arriving late, missing days entirely, or ultimately giving up and dropping out.
“The transportation support from Hallmark Mining Corporation removed that massive barrier," he added. “Malaking tulong(big help).”
Students arriving by school bus, he said, are more alert, focused, and ready to learn, having avoided the exhaustion of long walks or the uncertainty of unreliable public transport. The buses have also provided a safer environment for students, particularly during adverse weather conditions, giving parents peace of mind and encouraging higher enrollment retention.
The report highlights the school's commitment to its motto: "Every Learner Matters. No One Left Behind!"
With the drop in tardiness, absenteeism, and dropout rates, the school said the focus can now shift entirely to its core mission of academic achievement, embodied by their new rallying cry: "Attend Today, Learn More, Achieve Tomorrow."
The "School Performance Trend" graphic also features the school's slogan, "Stronger Attendance, Brighter Futures," a sentiment that is now clearly reflected in the hard data.
The community of Macambol is celebrating the partnership between the local school and HMC, noting that reliable transportation has paved the way for a brighter, more educated generation.
As the school moves through the rest of the 2025–2026 school year, administrators hope the progress will continue. They said HMC’s support for local education is making a difference and showing that when students have better access and opportunities, they can succeed. =#
