The sports event is part of the Summer Saya Isla 2022, a tourism campaign of IGACOS in coordination with PSC and Balebolista de Dabaw/PNVF.
In the men's category, Davao City, represented by JVA, composed of veteran beach volleyball players Calvin Sarte, Jan Ashley Jacob, and Jay Tuazon, beat Creekside 21-13.
In the same category, General Santos City defeated Samal Island A 21-15.
On the distaff side, Digos City, represented by Cor Jesu College, defeated JMA 21-18.
General Santos City A also defeated FGV 21-18.
A total of 16 women and 20 men teams are participating in the two-day tournament.
Aside from trophies and medals, the men's and women’s champions will receive P15,000, while the first runners-up will get P10,000.
Third placers will bring home P6,500, while the fourth placers will have P4,000. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
