Guesting before the weekly Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum on May 11, Coco Cuison, vice president of the Balebolista de Dabaw organization, said there are 12 teams in the men's division and 12 in the women's division, with cash prizes and trophies at stake for the winners.
Teams from the Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, Negros volleyball teams, Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Bukidnon, Cagayan de Oro, Digos, and South Cotabato are also anticipated to participate.
Along with the Lady Aces of Davao, Holy Cross of Davao College, and the University of Mindanao-Davao, the host team, Igacos, will also be fielding a team in the tournament.
The winning teams in the men's and women's divisions will each receive P25,000, while the first runner-up teams will each receive P15,000. The third-place finishers will also receive P10,000, and the fourth-place finishers will receive P5,000.
The Balebolista de Dabaw is getting ready for its June Coaches Seminar and Licensing run by three known coaches from Manila. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
