Sudden switch of Reporma to Leni Robredo from Panfilo Lacson has no effect on local politics, say
DAVAO CITY---One of the local mayors under the Reporma Party in Davao del Norte, revealed the sudden decision of their party to dump senator Panfilo Lacson in favor of Vice President Leni Robredo has no effect on the dynamics of local politics in the province.

Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte mayor Ernesto Evangelista told reporters that they are surprised on the move of Reporma President Davao del Norte first district congressman Pantaleon Alvarez but they respect his decision.

Evangelista said despite the change of the presidential candidate to support,  they are still committed to, help all the local candidates of Reporma at the provincial level.

"We will continue to campaign for all provincial candidates of Reporma from governor to the municipal councilors," Evangelista said.

Regarding the presidential level, Evangelista, for his part said he is not committed to support Robredo since the presidential choice in his town is a free zone.

However, the local Reporma slate agreed to fully support Uniteam's vice presidential bet Sara Duterte.

"Free zone me dri sa president," Evangelista said.

In his recent State of the Town Address (SOTA) on March 24, Evangelista cited the establishment of Dangpanan ni Tomas, a satellite office of the town mayor that offers 24/7 services, as his most outstanding achievement since he became chief town executive of the first-class municipality three years back.

Evangelista said the office allows town residents to seek help from him any time of the day and week without waiting for him to address their problems personally.  (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
