Santo Tomas LGU procures Patient Transport Vehicles for Barangay Salvacion, Balagunan
DAVAO CITY –The Municipal Government of Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte led by Mayor Ernesto Evangelista has procured two brand new Patient Transport Vehicles (PTV) which can be used during emergencies and disaster response.

This is to further strengthen the implementation of health programs and emergency response mechanisms in the barangays.

Evangelista in a statement said he expects that it can be of help in times of emergencies and be able to help residents from Barangay Salvacion and Balagunan who need transportation during emergency situations.

The mayor said he is optimistic that Patient Transport Vehicles in various barangays can decongest the operations of the MHO especially in responding to disaster and emergency situations from various communities.

Those barangays with PTVs were Barangay Kimamon, Barangay Salvacion, Barangay Balagunan, and soon Barangay New Katipunan. The procurement of the vehicles was done in a counterparting scheme.

Evangelista thanked the leadership of Punong Barangays— Ronald Galo of Salvacion, Allan Magallanes of Balagunan, Armando Torres of New Katipunan, and Deofel Rollan of Kimamon—for prioritizing the needs of their respective barangay especially in the implementation and the cascading of the #AksyonSKalusugan health programs of his administration in the grass-root communities.

Of the four barangays, Barangay Kimamon was first to be given the Patient Transport Vehicles under the Evangelista administration.

It is also the first barangay where a Safe Birthing Facility was established that aims to provide a safe and sustainable birth center to give mothers and their children access to health care providers.
