PSC will give P10K Christmas bonus to athletes and coaches
DAVAO CITY---The Philippine Sports Commission will give a P10,000 Christmas bonus to all athletes and coaches in the national training pool this week.

PSC Commissioner Ramon Fernandez said that all athletes, coaches, and trainers in the national pool will be given 10,000 pesos each as a Christmas Gift on top of their monthly allowances.

Fernandez, who is also Philippine Team chef de mission to the Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam next year said that 626 SEA Games bound athletes will not be affected by the yearly disbandment of the national pool because they have already been identified by the Philippine Olympic Committee and recommended to compete in the biennial games in Hanoi in May.

Traditionally, the national pool is disbanded on December 31 every year.

Athletes are selected back to compose the national team for the following year as soon as PSC gets the new list of athletes submitted for inclusion by their National Sports Associations (NSAs).

Fernandez added that PSC instructed the NSAs to submit their new lineup as early as November for the PSC to process and avoid delay.

Athletes preparing for the SEA Games in May, Asian Games in September, and other international competitions start bubble training on January 10 except for boxing, karate, and other athletes who are set to continue their training during the Christmas holidays in preparation for competition in January.
