Catantan, a gold medallist in the last SEA Games in Vietnam, won the gold in Senior Women's Foil, Junior Women's Foil, and the Junior Women's Team Foil.
To win the gold in the senior women foil, Catantan, 20, beats fellow national team and Canlas Fencing teammate Justine Gail Tinio, 15-4, in the finals.
The Pinay, a fencing varsity of Penn State in the US, won her two other gold medals as a member of the Canlas Fencing team with Victoria Ebdane, Julliana Jimenez, and Jodie Danielle Tan.
Ormoc got the chance to host the international fencing event since its congressman, Filipino actor Richard Gomez used to be a member of the Philippine fencing team.
After Ormoc, Catantan is set to depart to Cairo, Egypt, to prepare for the Fencing World Championships,, where she will be alongside Maxine Esteban in the Women's Foil, Noelito Jose in the Men's Epee, and Lance Tan in the Men's Foil event.(Romeo Braceros Jr.)
