The injured personnel are Staff Sergeant Evan S Tapayan and Corporal Jayson Baliad.
Tapayan and Baliad were hit in the left arm, and right leg, respectively.
Tapayan and Baliad received the “Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting”, recognizing their unwavering commitment to duty despite grave personal risk.
Each of them received P150, 000 monetary reward. A local official in the province also committed to shouldering the full medical expenses of the injured personnel.
PRO 11 Director Brigadier General Leon Victor Rosete who led the activity assures the wounded officers of complete medical support.
“The dedication and sacrifice of our police personnel, even in the face of great danger, is a testament to their unwavering commitment to protecting the Filipino people. The PNP will continue to support and recognize those who put their lives on the line in the name of public safety,” Rosete in a statement.
The PNP remains resolute in its mission to uphold the law, maintain peace and order, and ensure that criminals who threaten public safety are held accountable
