Davao City Councilor and SP Committee on Government Properties Chairperson Atty. J. Melchor Quitain Jr., said during the Pulong-Pulong sa Dabawenyo press conference, that the committee has successfully secured the list.
“With the inventory we have already accomplished, every councilor is allowed to have a copy of it from the REPTAF. We also have the para bang (similar to a) web map of all the properties, so you can see there—from the City Planning Office—where the actual city-owned properties are located,” he said.
Quitain said that the committee is now awaiting requests from local government offices for assistance, so they can build more infrastructure to serve Dabawenyos more efficiently.
“We are very short, siguro (perhaps), on infrastructure for some of the offices here in the city. Maybe we can utilize portions of these properties which we own, and maybe we can locate or identify properties within the city that can be used as parking spaces. So the committee will look into that so that we will be able to fully utilize our resources,” he said.
Quitain added that the committee is closely coordinating with the City Legal Office (CLO) to settle the proper documentation of city-owned properties. The CLO has already started filing cases to finally resolve the ownership of these properties in favor of the City of Davao. CIO
