Bucana fire victims get aid from Rep. Duterte's office
DAVAO CITY – More than 100 families affected by a fire incident in Barangay 76–A Bucana this city have received immediate relief assistance from the office of first District Representative Paolo Z. Duterte.

Duterte's office dispatched personnel to the evacuation area to supply relief assistance such as hot meals (lugaw), grocery packs (rice, canned goods, bottled water, milk, and other everyday essentials), and some sanitation kits.

Each recipient including house owners, sharers, renters, and boarders received the assistance through Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II, son of the congressman. Rigo facilitated the distribution of the goods on behalf of his father, who was at the Congress.

City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) head Alfredo Baloran confirmed the fire destroyed 40 houses based on the initial investigation of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Davao City.

According to Baloran, the firefighters had difficulty extinguishing the fire earlier because of the area's constrained passages. He added that there had been no reports of fatalities or significant injuries during the incident.

Duterte said affected individuals with health concerns could also seek medical support from his office. The First Congressional District Office has been providing relief assistance to anyone in need of timely aid.

Initial report from the Davao City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), 20 affected families and 64 dependents are currently sheltered at Busna Gymnasium, while 149 families with 545 dependents are at Manggahan Gymnasium.
