The activity aimed to remove waste along the shoreline and promote greater awareness and responsibility in protecting Davao City’s coastal areas.
Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte, in a message read by First District Councilor Tek Ocampo, chair of the 21st City Council’s Committee on Environment and Natural Resources, said the participation of residents, government workers, PMFTC employees, and other volunteers demonstrated the importance of collective action in keeping coastal communities clean and healthy.
The mayor also emphasized that sustained efforts to protect the coastline help strengthen the values of discipline, responsibility, and respect for the environment among Dabawenyos.
Duterte thanked all the volunteers who contributed their time and effort to the initiative and encouraged continued cooperation in protecting Davao City’s coastal areas for present and future generations. OrderDemographic Reports
Also participating in the clean-up drive were personnel from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), barangay officials, Girl Scout of the Philippines, and staff from the office of Councilor Ocampo.
