During an online disclosure of its full-year financial and operating results for 2024, PLDT reported a P208.4 billion up 3% in gross service revenues and net service revenues of P194.7 billion, up 2%.
“Our 2024 results highlight PLDT’s resilience and the continuous demand for reliable connectivity. We intend to use this as a benchmark for even better performance in the coming years. The telecommunications landscape is evolving rapidly, and we will work tirelessly to innovate, improve our services, and exceed customer expectations,” said Manuel V. Pangilinan, Chairman and CEO of PLDT and Smart.
Capital expenditures (Capex) for 2024 are set at P78.2 billion, down from P85.1 billion in 2023.
Pangilinan explained that this reduction in Capex is based on strategic rollouts while maintaining the company's focus on revenue generation.
He emphasized that while the Capex is lower, it will not negatively impact PLDT's services.
Consolidated service revenues rose by 2%, reaching P169.7 billion in 2024. Data and broadband services, which grew by 3% to P143.1 billion, contributed to 83% of consolidated service revenues. Excluding legacy services, consolidated service revenues were up by 5% year-on-year.
The company also reported a 4% increase in consolidated EBITDA, equating to P4.2 billion, resulting in a total of P109.5 billion for the year. The EBITDA margin remained steady at 52%, despite pressures from rising costs, which were managed effectively.
PLDT's individual wireless segment generated revenues of P83.5 billion in 2024, a 2% increase year-on-year. This growth was supported by a steady increase in data usage, with data revenues growing by 5% to P74.4 billion, which now accounts for 89% of the segment's total revenues. Active data users rose to 41.3 million by the end of December 2024, marking a 6% increase from the previous year.
As of the end of 2024, Smart had registered 59 million mobile subscribers.
PLDT Home reported P56.0 billion in fiber-only service revenues in 2024, representing a 6% year-on-year increase or an additional P3.0 billion.
Fiber-only revenues now constitute 92% of PLDT Home’s total revenues of P60.7 billion in 2024.
By the end of 2024, PLDT Home’s total fiber subscribers reached 3.4 million, with fiber net additions increasing by 190% between the first and second halves of 2024. This growth is driven by new fiber products, PLDT Home’s commitment to innovation, and continuous fiber expansion.
