The Port of Davao got the recent ISO certification after it underwent the second and final stage of the External Quality Audit last December 14 to 16, 2021.
The said Port was recommended for the issuance of ISO 9001:2015 Certification, making it the first major port in Visayas and Mindanao to be ISO certified.
With this, BOC-Davao District Collector, lawyer Erastus Sandino B. Austria in a statement said, he thanked the auditors, process owners, and all the personnel who helped during the ISO journey of the port.
Austria also said he expressed gratitude to the BOC Central Office for their extended support to the POD Team.
A total of 17 customs processes were submitted for ISO certification which include Assessment, Operations, Administrative, Customer Care Center Services, Passenger Service, and Airport Cargo Operations.
The Port also enrolled its support units such as its Management Information and Technology Group (MISTG), Enforcement Security Service (ESS), X-ray Inspection Project (XIP), and the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS).
For the year 2022, the Port of Davao will enroll new processes for ISO Certification. It will also include its Sub-port in Dadiangas in its ISO plan which is set to conduct its Internal Audit on June 15, 2022.
