Verse of the Day | August 18, 2024
- ξ
We felt we were doomed to die and saw how powerless we were to help ourselves; but that was good, for then we put everything into the hands of God, who alone could save us, for he can even raise the dead.
He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.
Donβt be afraid, for I am with you! Donβt be frightened, for I am your God! I strengthen youβyes, I help youβyes, I uphold you with my saving right hand!
βBut the Lord said to Samuel, βDo not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.β
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
βAnd the Lord will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places,And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.β
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
βDo everything without grumbling and arguing so that you may be blameless and pure, innocent children of God surrounded by people who are crooked and corrupt. Among these people you shine like stars in the world.β
βWhatever you do, do it from the heart for the Lord and not for people. You know that you will receive an inheritance as a reward. You serve the Lord Christ.β
Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
βAnd the Lord will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places,And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden,And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.
Forget what happened in the past, and do not dwell on events from long ago.
Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, βI will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,β
Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.
βAnd the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.β
"Thereβs a season for everything and a time for every matter under the heavens."
