Verse of the Day | August 18, 2024
- ξ
Jesus said to them, βI am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.
He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: βThe Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.β
βBut God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.β
And they will mock him and spit on him, and flog him and kill him. And after three days he will rise.β
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.
I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
βThen you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble.β
He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars.
βGive all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you."
βShow me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me."
βDonβt worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience Godβs peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live...
βFor the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding."
Many are the plans in a personβs heart, but it is the Lordβs purpose that prevails.
