Verse of the Day | August 18, 2024
- ξ
The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, βThe Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.
βThe Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace."
Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.
Be shepherds of Godβs flock that is under your care, watching over themβnot because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examp...
Jesus tells his disciples, "I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but take heart: I have overcome the world."
βHe must become greater; I must become less.β
βTherefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.β
βEven though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and staff, they comfort me.β
You shall walk in all the way which the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you will possess.
"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves."
For by me your days will be multiplied And years of life will be added to you.
Jesus said to them, βI am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.
He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: βThe Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.β
βBut God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.β
