These firearms that include 18 handguns, two rifles and a shotgun were turned over by KOJC representative, lawyer Israelito Torreon to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) 11 at the church compound in Barangay Sasa at around 7:30 a.m.
Torreon in his Facebook post said that the firearms were owned by Tamayong Village chief Cresente “Enteng” Canada.
He said through his representation, Canada, who is a gun sports collector, decided to entrust for safekeeping all his licensed guns to the CIDG regional office led by Police Col. Bernard Pagaduan and Major Edgardo Bahan.
"This act is made in order to show good faith that Brgy. Captain Canada and the leaders of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ The Name Above Every Name have no intention to use violence as a means to further their lawful and Godly objectives," Torreon said.
Canada, according to Torreon, is a licensed sports gun collector yet he opted to entrust his guns to the police to dispel rumors that he is using his guns to protect Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy.
Canada, who served as personal aid of Quiboloy is among the five co-accused in the child abuse and qualified human trafficking cases filed against Quiboloy before the courts in Davao and Pasig cities.
Also turned over were 14 bullets for a .9mm caliber handgun and two CZ pistol magazines.
Early this month, Quiboloy’s camp also surrendered five of 19 licensed firearms after the Civil Security Group (CSG) head office in Manila on April 26 issued FEO license revocation order to Quiboloy.
The other 14 firearms owned and possessed by Quiboloy had already been sold.
