“Let me express my utmost gratitude to my mama and the entire family, to President Rodrigo Duterte, thank you for showing us the way,” Sara said.
Sara said she brings with her the teachings of her parents to be humble, and equal treatment to everybody and the love for God, country, and family.
Apparently overwhelmed, Sara remained speechless for seconds as she stood up on stage in front of a multitude of supporters coming from all corners of the country.
“BBM and I and the entire UniTeam are truly humbled for your strong support; despite the strict health protocols, you (coming from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao) came here to showyour support. Maraming salamat,” Sara said.
She also took time to thank former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo of Lakas CMD, the party that adopted her when she filed her candidacy, Hugpong Pagbabago and everybody who helped and supported the BBM-Sara UniTeam.
Thousands of supporters have to secure a ticket and should show their fully vaccinated card in order to enter the arena.
Sara said she chose Marcos as her president because she believes in the capability of the latter to lead the country based on his experience as a local chief executive and years as legislator.
“We offer you a tandem. Dala namin ang UniTeam senators na may dalang lakas na tutulong sa ating bayan,” Sara said as she named the full senatorial line up.
Amid the challenges facing the country for the past two years aggravated by the pandemic, Sara said “nandito pa tayo, buhay, patuloy na lumalaban sa hamon.” “We shall move forward. We will bounce back like never before.”
“Let us all be eagles; let us soar, fight and win; mahalin natin ang Pilipinas,” she said.
Sara’s brainchild, Mahalin Natin ang Pilipinas (MNAP) Ride is on its 9th day today. Her team will be traveling around the country until Feb. 28 to campaign for patriotism among Filipinos.
Surveys as of December last year and recently in January showed, the presidential children, Bongbong and Sara constantly emerging as front runners. (BY JUDY QUIROS)
