Led by Lt. Gen. Adonis Ariel G. Orio PA, the command held the celebration at Naval Station Felix Apolinario in Panacan, Davao City, with AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete PA as guest of honor and speaker.
EastMinCom reported that 84 cities and municipalities within its joint operational area have maintained their insurgency-free status, while 79 have attained Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS) status.
Under its Campaign Plan “Tatag Sidlakan Mindanao,” the command also reported the dismantling of 12 Communist Terrorist Group units, the surrender of 590 members and supporters, and the recovery of 461 firearms and 45 anti-personnel mines.
Orio credited these gains to the efforts of military personnel and sustained cooperation among government agencies, local governments, law enforcement units and communities.
Nafarrete, meanwhile, commended EastMinCom for two decades of service and emphasized the AFP’s core values of honor, service and patriotism.
As it enters its third decade, EastMinCom said it will continue strengthening its capabilities and partnerships to preserve peace, protect communities and safeguard Eastern Mindanao.
