DSWD 11 to add over 32K more 4Ps beneficiaries
DAVAO CITY- The Regional Field office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) here is targeting to add a total of 32,239 new beneficiaries under Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

DSWD 11 in a statement said the target beneficiaries are the remaining poor households in the Listahanan 2 database.

The Listahanan or the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) is an information management system of the agency that identifies who and where the poor are.

The registration of new 4Ps beneficiaries is in accordance with the National Advisory Committee (NAC) Resolution No. 43 which institutionalizes a replacement policy that allows for the continuous replacement of beneficiaries with eligible ones that are not yet covered by the program.

The identified household beneficiaries will undergo a validation by the 4Ps field staff at the Municipal/Provincial offices through community assemblies or house-to-house approach.

Ronald Ryan R. Cui, the acting director of DSWD 11 said the department

sees the inclusion of more Dabawenyos living in poverty as an opportunity to uplift the well-being of their families through 4Ps.

A total of 425,063 households nationwide were identified to be potentially eligible for registration to the program under Set 11-A.

4Ps is a human development measure of the national government under the Department that provides conditional cash grants to the poorest of the poor, to improve the health, nutrition, and the education of children aged 0-18.

The program also provides psychosocial and psycho-educational components through the Family Development Session, leading the beneficiaries to an improved and sustained well-being.

The households are given cash grants in exchange for their compliance with the programโ€™s conditions.

These include school attendance of at least 85 percent per month for children enrolled in pre-school, elementary or high school; children aged five and below are to undergo preventive checkup as mandated by the Department of Health (DOH); and children enrolled in elementary are to receive deworming pills twice within the school year.

Also, pregnant women must receive prenatal and postnatal care, based on DOH protocol; and parent/s or guardians are to attend monthly Family Development Sessions.
