Each rebel returnee got Pangkabuhayan Business Kits for Sari-sari store worth P150,000.
The Pangkabuhayan Business Kit is a small business program of DTI that allows a wider reach of business development assistance to the former rebels. It is part of DTI’s program called Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG), a livelihood seeding program that aims to help and assist Micro Small Medium Enterprise (MSME) and other marginalized sectors affected by recent calamities.
These 22 former rebels surrendered to 73rd Infantry Battalion under 1002Bde of the 10th Infantry Division.
10th Infantry Division commander Major General Nolasco A Mempin thanked DTI for its program that benefited the former rebels in 10ID’s area of responsibility.
He said this is a good start for the former rebels in going back to mainstream society.
“We encouraged them to continue to work hard for the betterment of their life and their families,” Mempin said.
