PSC donates basic provisions  to IPs in Talaingod
DAVAO CITY---The Philippine Sports Commission, represented by Commissioner Charles Raymond Maxey, who overseas the Indigenous Peoples Games program, turned over some 400 sets of various Indigenous Peoples provisions, including Tnalak backpacks, abaca fiber shoulder bags, bamboo notebooks, bamboo pens, customized shirts and towels to the Municipality of Talaingod in the province of Davao del Norte.

Bae Pilar Libayao, former mayor of Talaingod and tribal chieftain of the Ata-Manobo Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICC), received the provisions from the PSC.

Libayao thanked the PSC for the donation of supplies.

“Daghan salamat na niabot ang gobyerno diri sa amoa ug nagatagan mi ani (We are very thankful to PSC and we are one of the beneficiaries of these provisions), Libayao said in her emotional message.

Maxey shared that the national government remains committed to providing equal opportunities and programs to the country's Indigenous Peoples (IP).

“I hope these provisions will be of good use to the young members of the Ata-Manobo tribe,” he added.

Witnessing the turnover activity is Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR) Datu Andigao Agay and Davao del Norte Provincial Sports and Youth Development Office Head Giovanni Gulanes.
